ALMOSTBLACK sees “POST JAPONISME” as their core, combining traditional and innovative techniques, they build out an unique atheistic. The name comes from the concept of “an indigo hue that is so deep that as if it could be black” to link with Japanese traditional culture “Kachie”, which is widely used in military clothing history to symbolize luck and victory. The choice of name shows how the designers Shunta Nakajima and Masaki Kawase value the traditional techniques in Japan, and how they display a new era of clothing through their designs.
